Special Therapy Dogs
Visit weekly in a
nursing home, assisted living facility, adult day care center, etc. near
their own home. Are matched with
several older persons who have little contact with family or friends, or who
cannot participate in regular visiting and/or activities. Have a gentle,
sociable, friendly pet which is certified healthy by a veterinarian and
passes an evaluation. Are at ease with
frail, older people, and disabled younger people. |
